The World’s First Autonomous Dump Truck With No Driver Or Help!

Komatsu is the first manufacturer in the world to commercialize Autonomous Haulage Systems in the mining industry and even beyond. Komatsu company are planing to expand their technology to a bigger and more commercial scale such as cranes and buses. Right now the komatsu trucks are fully functional and they work without the control of any human presence. Since 2016 they are in testing mode and not even an error has slip between the test.

The technology uses a GPS system that make the maneuverability safe and secure when passing obstacles and other vehicles. These features allow the dump truck to safely operate though a complex load, haul and dump cycle and to integrate with the dossers, loaders and shovels that are also part of the autonomous system.
The benefits for all this systems are low fuel consumption, no human error or labor plus many working hours without any shifts or breaks
